Claudio Ranieri Leaves Leicester City FC.

Leicester City have announced that they have parted company with Claudio Ranieri, their manager.

After taking the job in July 2015, Ranieri stunned the world by leading Leicester to the Premier League title last season, but the champions have replicated their struggles of 2014/15 this campaign.

With just five wins all season and a return of one point from the last six Premier League matches, Leicester lie a place and a point above the relegation zone.

“This has been the most difficult decision we have had to make in nearly seven years since King Power took ownership of Leicester City,” Leicester vice-chairman Aiyawatt Srivaddhanaprabha said in a statement. “But we are duty-bound to put the club’s long-term interests above all sense of personal sentiment, no matter how strong that might be.”

The Foxes are next in action on Monday when they host Liverpool, preparation for which assistant manager Craig Shakespeare and first-team coach Mike Stowell will take charge until a new manager is appointed.
