The English Premier League opened on Friday, 11th August for the 2017/2018 season. The opening match was played at the Emirates stadium where the Gunners hosted the Foxes. It was a tense game at the Emirates, but the gunners managed to bag in three points, thanks to the header from Olivier Giroud.
The premier league game week one was rapped up this evening with the closing game between Man Utd and West Ham. The red devils kept the game under control with four whopping goals at the final whistle. The club's newest signing during the summer break - Romelu Lukaku scored a brace. At the end of this week's opener, a total of thirty-one goals were recorded at ten different match centers. Below are photos off this week's opener, we hope you like it.
Riyad Mahrez holds off
Arsenal’s Sead Kolasinac as The Gunners beat Leicester City 4-3 at the
Emirates. The game was only the sixth time that an opening game in a
Premier League season has seen seven goals scored – no game has seen
more.

Heurelho Gomes fouls Mohamed Salah to concede a penalty during the 3-3
thriller between Watford and Liverpool at Vicarage Road. Liverpool
manager Jürgen Klopp said:“Both teams struggled with 90 minutes, it’s
the first game. That’s normal.”
Manchester City’s
Sergio Agüero holds off Brighton’s Davy Propper. Agüero opened the
scoring as City won 2-0 at the Amex Stadium to overcome the Seagulls.

Wayne Rooney celebrates
scoring the only goal of the game against Stoke City on his first
league game back at Goodison Park. No player has scored more Premier
League goals on the opening day than Rooney (eight) – a record shared
with Alan Shearer and Frank Lampard. Rooney’s effort was his 300th goal
involvement in the Premier League (199 goals, 101 assists), only Shearer
(324) has more.

Everton’s Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Stoke’s Geoff Cameron challenge for a
high ball. Manager Mark Hughes hasn’t won any of his past seven opening
day Premier League games (D2, L5) in charge of three different clubs in
that time (Fulham, QPR and Stoke).

Bournemouth’s Andrew Surman connects with 17-year-old midfielder Rekeem
Harper during West Bromwich Albion’s 1-0 home win at The Hawthorns.
Harper is only the second player born this century (8 March 2000) to
play in the Premier League, after Manchester United’s Angel Gomes on the
final day of the 2016-17 season.

Burnley’s Sam Vokes
scores their third goal as they beat the champions Chelsea 3-2 at
Stamford Bridge. Vokes is the first player to score in four consecutive
Premier League appearances for the Clarets. This game was the first time
that the reigning champions have suffered a defeat on the first
match-day in successive top-flight seasons since 1968 (Man Utd 1967-68,
and Man City 1968-69).

Steve Mounié celebrates
scoring Huddersfield’s second goal during as they beat Crystal Palace
3-0 at Selhurst Park. The Terriers are just the fifth newly-promoted
side to win on the opening day of the Premier League since 2008-09,
after West Ham (2012), Blackpool (2010) and Hull (2008 and 2016).

Swansea City’s Tammy Abraham shoots at the Southampton goal during the
goalless draw at St Mary’s. Swansea failed to land a single shot on
target, while the hosts Southampton fired in just two despite attempting
29 shots in total (including blocks).

Jamaal Lascelles
tackles Dele Alli as Newcastle lose their first game back in the Premier
League 2-0 to Spurs at St James’ Park. Alli has scored 13 Premier
League goals in 2017; among English players, only Harry Kane (21) has
scored more.
